<Syntax>
expression .EQ. expression
expression == expression

Each expression must be of type Integer, Real, Complex or Character.
<Semantics>
Tests two expressions for equality, returning a default logical result. The expressions must be of type Integer, Real, Complex, or Character; if one expression is of type Character both must be.

Note that in the case of type Real, negative zero is considered to be equal to positive zero.
